Dr. John Obeck is a Tampa native and knew from a young age that he wanted to devote himself to a medical profession that allowed him to work with his hands and help people. He is unconditionally committed to giving every one of his patients the best dental health care experience that he possibly can.
Dr. Obeck earned his degree of Doctor of Dental Surgery from the University of Maryland Dental School, which was the first dental school founded in America. Prior to dental school, he proudly attended Tampa Jesuit High School and earned his Bachelor of Arts in Leadership Studies with a minor in Biology at the University of Richmond in 2016.
He completed a highly competitive Oral Surgery Clerkship in school and has advanced training in cosmetic dentistry, TMJ treatment, and sleep apnea treatment. He is a proud member and student of the LD Pankey Institute, a world class continuing education curriculum to expand his knowledge. Dr. Obeck is a self admitted “continuing education junkie” and loves attending courses to stay on top of the latest and best techniques and dental technology. He is a member of the Florida West Coast Dental Association, the Hillsborough County Dental Association, the Florida Academy of Dental Practice Administration, the American Dental Association, the Academy of General Dentistry, and two periodontal and prosthodontic study clubs.
Outside of the dental office, Dr. Obeck is an avid fly fisherman and loves spending time on the water with his friends and family. He plays the drums and electric bass guitar and was in a dental school band called Plaque Sabbath.
